This shot was taken on my way back from Oppdal to Trondheim in central Norway. There were numerous signs just like this one along the way - however, no Moose of Deer could be seen... During my visit to Norway I found out about the Sami, an ancient people with their own language and culture (including an original form of singing known as the "Joik"). The Sami live, mostly, in current day Norway (also some parts of western Sweden) and depend on their domesticated reindeer. Each year the Sami migrate with their herd hundreds of miles to ancestral reindeer breeding grounds at lower altitudes nearer the fjords.
